Decatur City Commission: $45k change order for storm drain repairs on Monday’s agenda
Decatur’s City Commission at its Aug. 19 meeting will consider approving a $45,000 change order to cover unexpected costs for downtown storm drain improvements.
According to documents provided by the city, this amounts to a 3.5 percent contract increase, taking the total amount for East Maple repairs from $1.29 million to $1.33 million. Here’s the breakdown provided by the city:
The change order results from the following additional work items:
-Removal of poor soils and replacement with gravel in several areas under the new storm drainage system – $12,000
– An unplanned adjustment to the water lines in East Maple Street – $3,500
– Connection of several private drainage pipes to the new system – $8,500
– Installation of a new trench drain to capture storm water from the alley on the south side of East Maple Street – $14,000
– Miscellaneous pavement repairs, adjustments to underground utilities $7,000
Other than that, it’s a pretty light agenda. Monday’s City Commission meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at City Hall, located at 509 N. McDonough Street.
