Decatur Candidate Forum Oct. 22 at church at Decatur Heights

Share

There’s only one contested local election in Decatur this November, and you can meet those candidates at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at a candidate forum and meet-and-greet at the Church at Decatur Heights.

Retired Decatur High social studies teacher Chris Billingsley will moderate the forum.

Mark Arnold and Lewis Jones are running for the seat currently held by Decatur School Board Chairman Marc Wisniewski, who decided not to seek re-election.

Annie Caiola will also attend. She’s the sole candidate for the school board seat now held by Valarie Wilson, who is not running again.

Incumbents Bernadette Seals of the school board and Fred Boykin and Patti Garrett of the city commission also will be on the Nov. 5 ballot but won’t face any opposition. They’re not scheduled to appear at the forum.

The public is invited. The Church at Decatur Heights is at 735 Sycamore Drive.
