Basketball – a sport known to Alabama fans as “that game Kentucky plays with the baskets and whatnot” – is coming to a high school near you.

Our Decatur High School bulldogs are inviting everyone out to the gymnasium this Friday, November 22 at 6 p.m. for Decatur Bulldog Basketball Community Night, according to a meeting announcement I received. The gym is located at 310 N. McDonough Street.

The boys and girls teams will play against their teachers in the Student-Faculty game. Faculty from other schools will compete in the Schools Skills competition. You can also win stuff, like jerseys and tickets.

It’s fun. It’s free. You can probably walk to it in 10 minutes. Get out there and support these kids, even if you don’t have kids in the school system. They’re the pride of the city.
