The Friends of the Decatur Cemetery sent this photo from Monday’s Veterans Day ceremony, along with the following account:

As it has for years in the past, on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 at 11 a.m. 2013, the Harold Byrd American Legion Post 66 and Women’s Auxiliary held a meaningful and well attended ceremony. The service took place in front of the American Legion Memorial at the Bell Street entrance to Decatur Cemetery off Church Street. 

The flags placed on each Veteran’s grave have been up since Nov. 9 and will come down Sunday, Nov. 17.
