(UPDATE) Arrest made in Kirkwood bike trail shooting

Icon_PoliceAtlanta Police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the Dec. 26 shooting death of a man in Kirkwood. The suspect is a juvenile and his name is not being released.

UPDATE: APD says the suspect is charged with one count of murder and one count of armed robbery.

More from spokesman Greg Lyon:

“A juvenile was arrested this morning for his involvement in the Roger St. homicide of X’avier Arnold that occurred Thursday night. The (suspect) is a juvenile and, therefore, his name and information will not be released. I want to stress that since this is an active and ongoing investigation, we will not be able to release additional information at this time nor will we be providing sound to any media outlets.”

The shooting happened on a bike trail in Kirkwood, around the 200 block of Rogers Street NE in Atlanta, GA. The late afternoon shooting involved two male suspects who approached the three victims – two males and one female. An altercation ensued, and Arnold shot in the head. He died as a result of his injuries.
