Pipe bursts in parking deck on West Ponce De Leon

Share

Decatur Fire reported about 30 minutes ago that it is responding to a pipe burst at a parking deck located at 335 West Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Update Jan. 11: The Fire Department sent along the following: ”It was not a pipe only two sprinkler heads in the parking deck.”

The Fire Department reports it’s a weather-related leak, and there’s been no damage.

I got all this from the Fire Department’s Twitter account. In related news, the Fire Department has a Twitter account? Had no idea.

Also, a pipe burst at Decatur’s 4/5 Academy yesterday and at several other places in the metro area.

UPDATE: … and it looks like there are even more problems with pipes bursting in the city, but this time it’s due to ongoing storm drainage improvements.

From the city’s Decatur Minute blog:

“Reeves Contracting broke a water service line on lower Church Street at 3:45 pm this afternoon (Thursday, Jan. 9). Repairs will begin in about 15 minutes and service should be restored by 5 pm. This will affect properties located in the 100 block of Church Street.”
