Report: Jason Carter has raised $1.3 million for governor’s race

State Sen. Jason Carter, D-Decatur, is raising serious cash in his bid to unseat incumbent Gov. Nathan Deal.

The Associated Press reports that Carter has raised $1.3 million since announcing his candidacy in November. To read the full AP article, click here.

It’s shaping up to be an intense campaign season ahead of the November gubernatorial elections. The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Political Insider blog investigated early campaign scuttlebutt that the state GOP is warning trial lawyers not to give money to Carter’s campaign, using the threat of medical malpractice lawsuit reform.
