The City of Avondale Estates is declaring victory over the snow storm.

The city reports that sanitation pickup will resume tomorrow, Feb. 14, as long as the roads aren’t too bad. City Hall will close at 2 pm today, Feb. 13, but will reopen at normal hours tomorrow, from 8 am to 5 pm.

Avondale Estates employees’ snow fighting exploits even got a mention in the big time papers up in New York City.  Local photographer Erik S. Lesser snapped the photo of city employees spreading salt and sand over roads. The photo ran in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Fancy.
