The buzz about The Bishop keeps building and on Saturday, Feb. 15, Avondale Estates residents got a preview of the new restaurant’s menu.

Owner Luellen Marshall was a featured restaurant at the Taste of Avondale event held at the city’s Community Club. The room was packed with residents there to see artists, listen to music and try the local cuisine. It was a great place to rub elbows, whether you wanted to or not.

Many of the attendees made a beeline over to Marshall’s table, where she served them ham steak with a side of smoked Gouda grits. Marshall has more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business and hospitality industry. She’s worked at Village Tavern, TGI Fridays International and Ruth’s Chris.

Marshall said the restaurant would open in late spring. Currently, crews are remodeling the 2,300 square foot restaurant in the Avondale Estates Tudor Village. When the restaurant opens, it’ll be right down the street from Pallookaville, a gourmet corndog joint that’s been a hit with locals and visitors.
