Yesterday’s strong winds took out trees in Decatur and Kirkwood.

In Decatur, a large pine tree near Adair Dog Park fell over. It didn’t damage any property and no one was injured, but according to the Adair Dog Park Facebook group, there were two girls standing under the tree when it started to fall. It barely missed them.

Public Works crews were out this morning. They chopped the tree into sections and fed it through a wood chipper. The employees plan to spread the mulch over the grounds of the dog park. The cycle of life continues.

In Kirkwood, winds toppled a giant oak tree near Hosea Williams Drive and Rogers Street Northeast, CBS Atlanta reported. A limb broke through one of the windows, destroying furniture.
