After we broke the news that the old Scottish Rite property is currently tied up in a lawsuit, readers had lots of questions.

What are the terms of the lease between Community Center of South Decatur and Progressive Decatur, aka Progressive Redevelopment Inc.?

What were the terms of the purchase option that CCSD wants to execute to buy the property so Progressive Decatur can’t sell it?

Who is on the board of CCSD and Progressive Decatur?

We’ve got copies of the complaint and the subsequent responses to it. We’ve also got copies of the most recent tax forms for each organization. Read them, study them and let us know if you see anything interesting by shooting us an email at decaturish@gmail.com

Here are the documents in question

The lawsuit:

2013.3.6 – Verified Complaint for Damages – FILED (1)

2013.4.11 – PD Answer & Counterclaims

2013.4.12 – Alikonis Answer

2013.5.29 – CCSD’s Answer and Defenses to Progressive Decaturs Counterclaims

Tax forms for CCSD:

2010CCSD990

2011CCSD990

2012-CCSD990

Tax forms for Progressive Redevelopment:

2010PRI990

2011PRI990

2012PRI990

Again, please email any observations you have about these to decaturish@gmail.com. Thanks.

  • Not An Oakie

A lot of familiar names in these documents, on the Boards, and on organizational websites, especially if one looks at cached pages that are still being picked up in web searches. KInd of an Oakhurst/Decatur/peri-Decatur Peyton Place. Wonder if this has caused rifts and tensions in the community or is just business? Haven’t heard much myself except the posts here and the older post on Decatur Metro.
