A man accused of flashing a boy at the Decatur Library in 2012 will have his day in court Monday, March 24.

The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office says Johnta Baker is being tried on charges of child molestation related to the August 2012 incident.

According to an account of the incident published by Decatur Metro, Baker – 19 at the time of the alleged crime – exposed himself to a boy at the library and “then touched the child with his exposed genitalia.”

The boy’s parent and other bystanders tried to detain Baker, who fled to the nearby MARTA station. MARTA and Decatur Police pursued the suspect, who jumped down the tracks and ran through the tunnel. He was eventually captured and taken into custody.

Jail records show that Baker’s brushes with the law didn’t stop in 2012. In 2013 he was charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor offense.
