The organizers of the 26th annual Decatur Arts Festival have announced that Kristian Bush, founder of the band Sugarland, will be headlining the event on May 24.

Bush will be performing with Larkin Poe, the announcement from the Decatur Arts Alliance said.

“Bush has left his mark on music for more than two decades and has sold more than 22 million Sugarland albums worldwide with partner Jennifer Nettles,” the announcement says. “Bush is a graduate of Emory University, an Atlanta resident, a frequent performer at Eddie’s Attic, and an active member of the Decatur community.”

The event will be held in downtown Decatur on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 and 25, and there are several smaller events held throughout the month leading up to it. The Memorial Day Weekend event is free to attend. The festival organizers are encouraging attendees to use MARTA to get there. There will also be a bike valet service this year. There is free parking in the county deck at West Trinity Place behind the county courthouse.

“The festival offers many one-of-a-kind pieces in sculpture, glasswork, functional and decorative ceramics, jewelry and mixed media,” the announcement from the Decatur Arts Alliance says.
