The Avondale Pizza Cafe will hold a fundraiser for the Willadsen family on Wednesday, April 23.

An April 12 fire took the lives of Tami Willadsen and her 10-year-old daughter Jess. Her son, Jack, 5, was severely burned and her husband, Dave, received minor injuries. Nothing remains of their family home that was located at 70 Lakeshore Drive.

The event will be 6 pm to 11 pm. The Pizza Cafe is located at 2823 East College Avenue. The announcement was contained in a newsletter distributed by the city of Avondale Estates.

“Michael O’Keefe and the entire Avondale Pizza Cafe family are very saddened by the tragedy that the Avondale Estates community endured on April 12, and want to send their condolences and support to the Willadsen family and all impacted families,” the announcement says. “On Wednesday, April 23,Avondale Pizza Café is hosting a benefit for these families and would like to extend an invitation to the community to help out and get together for some fellowship. Avondale Pizza Cafe will donate 50 percent of all sales between 6 and 11 p.m. to the families.”

There’s also a Go Fund Me account set up in the family’s name. As of April 22, the account had raised more than $95,000 for the family. The Pizza Cafe is encouraging people who can’t attend to make a donation to the Go Fund Me account.
