The Georgia Department of Transportation promises few daytime traffic disruptions this weekend, saying most of the scheduled work will occur overnight.

GDOT’s update says, “With the exception of a one-hour long ramp closure at the I-75/Northside Drive (SR 3) interchange and a single lane closure in the northeast quadrant of I-285, all other work is scheduled during the overnight hours, weather permitting.”

GDOT says it will need to close the loop ramp on the I-75/Northside Interchange from Northside Drive northbound to I-75 southbound. The closure will last from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Saturday so maintenance crews can fix a guardrail. Drivers should take Howell Mill Road to get to I-75 southbound during the closure, GDOT says.

On GDOT’s weekend to-do list for overnight work:

·         Three left lanes closed on I-85 southbound from North Druid Hills Road to SR 400 for sign work.

·         Three right lanes closed on I-20 westbound from Glenwood Road to Gresham Road for restriping.

·         Two right lanes closed on I-75 northbound from Canton Road to Chastain Road for concrete work.

·         Two left lanes closed on I-285 eastbound from Northside Drive to Riverside Drive to pour concrete sign footings.
