MARTA will be holding public hearings on its proposed Fiscal Year 2015 budget this week, and the transit agency promises good things for commuters.

The budget proposal includes a 19 percent increase in service hours and no fare increase for riders.

There will be a public hearing on the budget proposal on May 13 at the Decatur Recreation Center, located at 231 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA  30030, within walking distance of the downtown MARTA station. The hearing begins at 6 pm. There will also be a hearing on May 13 in the council chambers at Atlanta City Hall, located at 55 Trinity Ave., Atlanta 30303. That hearing also begins at 6 pm.
