The summer vacation season means more opportunities for people who want to steal your stuff.

The Avondale Estates Police Department will hold a “Crime Prevention Training Class” on June 25 to help residents avoid becoming an item on the police blotter.

“The community is invited to hear highlights on personal, home and automobile safety from the Avondale Estates Police Department,” the announcement from the city says. “It doesn’t take much to be a victim of a crime – attend this class and learn preventative tips that everyone should be practicing to deter crime.”

The class will be held at City Hall, located at 21 North Avondale Plaza. The meeting starts at 6:30 pm and is expected to last one hour.
