A leasing representative for the former Seen Gallery space in Decatur said there’s been considerable interest in the vacant Church street property.

There’s also an Olive Oil store headed to West Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Tara Borysiak, the leasing representative for the gallery space at 415 Church St., said there isn’t a lease in place yet, but hinted that there’s something in the works.

“All I can say is that we’ve had a lot of good interest in that space and I think we’ll have a new tenant in there soon,” she said.

The Seen Gallery left the 1,700 square foot property in March.

Meanwhile, a company called Splash of Olive plans its Decatur debut in August, according to owner Rebecca Hadaway. (h/t Decatur Metro.)

According to the company’s website, the store will be located at 201 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Hadaway said her company will offer olive oils and vinegar products that are superior to the ones that sit on grocery store shelves.

“We as Americans have not experienced olive oils the way they are intended to be experienced as we’re buying olive oil off the grocery store shelf,” she said. “I want to bring what I believe are the finest olive oils on the market to Decatur.”

Hadaway said she’s spent the last 25 years working in franchising. Her most recent job was with the Mars, Inc. pet food division. She said after more than two decades working within a corporate structure, she wanted to try something new.

“This is not a franchise company,” she said. “I’d like to be able to make my own decisions.”
