Decatur Police report that there was an armed robbery on West Howard Saturday evening.

Sgt. Jennifer Ross said police responded to the call at 12:30 am Sunday morning from a residence on DeKalb Avenue in Atlanta. The victim told police that he was walking with a friend on The Path trail, headed westbound, in the 700 block of West Howard Avenue at 11 pm on Saturday evening. A red minivan traveling westbound approached from behind and made an abrupt stop in the east bound lane.

Three men got out of the van and one pointed a handgun at the victims while the other two searched them. The victim said the suspects stole his cell phone from his pans pocket and another suspect stole a bag from his friend. The suspects then fled westbound in the van. The victim went home and called police. The friend left the scene and hasn’t been located, Ross said.

The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect #1: Black male, 20’s, approximately 6’, wearing a red hat

Suspect #2: Black male, 20’s, wearing a blue button-up shirt

Suspect #3 – Black male
