Avondale Estates Police report that a burglar who broke into a refreshment stand didn’t get much for the trouble.

Police sent out an advisory message about a burglary at the 100 block of Dartmouth Avenue that occurred between 8 pm July 6 and 11 am July 7.

According to the alert, the suspect or suspects, “forced entry through the doorway between 8 pm Sunday, July 6, and 11 am today, Monday, July 7. Police were made aware of the incident around 2:30 pm today. There are no known suspects at the time of this report and nothing was reported to have been stolen. Anyone having possible information pertaining to the incident is asked to contact Inv. Tom Gillis at (404) 391-4526.”

Recent attempts to steal things in Avondale Estates haven’t yielded much for would-be thieves.

In the crime report released on July 7 for the week ending July 3, there was a “forced entry burglary to a commercial building in the 1200 block of Clarendon Avenue. Subjects broke window to make entry. Nothing reported missing.”

There was also a car break-in reported in front of a residence on Fairfield Plaza. The suspect broke the driver’s side window to get inside. The loot? An owner’s manual removed from the glove box.
