The Decatur Book Festival’s iPhone app is now available for download, according to an email sent to Book Festival volunteers.

The app will help volunteers and attendees map out their plans during the Book Festival event, which will take place Aug. 29 through Aug. 31, Labor Day weekend.

“Just visit the app store on your iPhone and search for the “AJC/Decatur Book Festival” to download the free app,” “Unfortunately, there is still not an app for the Droids.”

The email also says the Festival still needs about 100 volunteers.

According to the email, “Our most pressing needs on Saturday and Sunday are at the Rec Center, Children’s stage, Marriott, City Hall, Old Courthouse and the new Decatur Maker’s and Kitchen Stages. We also need about 25 people on Sunday from 6-9 pm for close down.”

If you’re interested in signing up, you can click here to see the current openings.

If you haven’t volunteered before, you can click here to register.

The announcement says you can send any questions to the Decatur Visitor and Volunteer Center via email at [email protected] or call  678-615-0915.

The center is open 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
