– Criminal law and criminal procedure

– Recruitment and training

– Traffic enforcement

– Criminal investigations

– Firearms safety

– Crime prevention and the Citizen’s Assisting Public Safety (C.A.P.S.) program.

“You will also be one of the first groups to tour and have classes in the new police department,” Ross said.

I’ve been told by grads of this program that you gain so much more appreciation of the job the Decatur police do everyday. It is an excellent program.
I see that part of the course includes firearm safety. This is an excellent idea that I would support expanding this as a separate program, especially for high school students.
