Decatur Schools holding meetings on renovations

City Schools of Decatur is asking for public input on renovations to the city’s high and middle schools.

CSD borrowed $18 million in certificates of participation money, referred to as COPS, to pay for the projects at Decatur High and Renfroe Middle. The School Board recently awarded more than $1 million in contracts for these projects.

The first meeting will be held Aug. 14 at 6:30 pm in the Decatur High Performing Arts Center. There will be another meeting on Aug. 19 at the Renfroe Middle School Library.

Here is a list of other forums and workshops CSD is holding on the master plan:

DHS- Thursday 8/14 School Leadership Team (SLT) Meeting at 5 PM (no public comment at SLT work session)
DHS- Thursday 8/14 Community Forum at 6:30 PM (includes public comment time)
RMS- Tuesday 8/19 School Leadership Team (SLT) Meeting at 5 PM (no public comment at SLT work session)
RMS- Tuesday 8/19 Community Forum at 6:30 PM (includes public comment time)
Presentation of Proposed Master Plans and Phase 1 Concepts
RMS – Wednesday 9/24 at 6:30 PM
DHS – Thursday 9/25 at 6:30 PM
