WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that the DeKalb County District Attorney’s investigation into the death of a man shot by an Avondale Estates Police officer is ongoing, 20 months after the incident occurred.

The TV station reports that an officer fatally shot Jayvis Benjamin, 20, in January of 2013. Police allege that he stole a car then attacked an officer after crashing into someone’s yard, according to WSB-TV. The officer shot Benjamin in the chest. 

According to the report, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has completed its review of the case.
