Decatur Police received reports about two burglaries that occurred on Shadowmoor Drive over Labor Day weekend.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross said that at 7:38 am on Aug. 31, officers got a call from someone who found their neighbors’ property around the 200 block of Derrydown Way. The person found a bag and other items that belonged to a neighbor who lives in the 200 block of Shadowmoor Drive. The resident there told officers that between 3 am and 4 am she thought she’d heard something in the kitchen. She went into the kitchen to check it out, found nothing and went back to bed. Some of the recovered items were on the table inside of the home and some were in a vehicle parked in the driveway, Ross said. The suspects apparently tried to steal one of the vehicles from the driveway. The victim told officers that the suspect got into the home by reaching through a dog door and unlocking the door. The suspect also stole credit cards and cash, Ross said.

On Sept. 1, around 1:15 PM, Decatur Police went to the 300 block of Shadowmoor Drive after receiving a call about a burglary that occurred over the weekend. The victim told officers that someone went inside her garage and stole her white Jamis 27-speed road bike. According to Ross, the victim last saw the bike on Aug. 29 and found a gate leading to the back of the home open on Aug. 31.
