Someone recently attempted to break into the Pure Gas Station on East Ponce de Leon, according to Decatur Police.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross said Officer speed responded to the call at 7:22 am on Tuesday. The person filing the report, Barrett Tibbetts, told the officer that the business was locked when he left it on Monday evening, Oct. 20. He told the officer that the front door was damaged when he arrived on Tuesday morning at about 7 am.

“Officer Speed observed the front door trim to have all been removed, as well as the mailbox in the doorway,” the police report says. “Officer Speed photographed the damage then processed the scene. Officer Speed recovered five latent print cards from the outside of the front door glass.”

There have been other break-ins on Ponce de Leon reported this month. A few weeks ago, burglars targeted Dancing Goats and Cafe Lily.
