Avondale’s Autumnfest returns this weekend

Avondale Estates annual fall festival returns this weekend, Oct. 4 and 5.

The 12th annual Autumnfest is free to attend and will last from 11 am to 6 pm each day.

There will be artist and chef demonstrations, as well as performances by musical acts. The chef demos will include Avondale’s newest restaurants, Pallookaville and The Bishop. There will also be a chef’s demonstration by Leon’s Full Service in Decatur.

Jen Singh, one of the festival’s organizers, said the festival has grown each year.

“Avondale Estates of course is getting revitalized pretty quickly,” she said. “There‚Äôs a lot to see and do now versus years past and I think people are discovering the hidden little gem of Avondale.”
