After three years, Big Tex is calling it quits.

The restaurant, located on West Ponce de Leon in Decatur, said its goodbyes on Twitter and Facebook Monday.

“Thank you for three great years, but it’s time for us to say goodbye,” the message said. “We had a great time serving Decatur and look forward to seeing you soon!”

The restaurant was owned by Jonathan and Justin Fox, owners of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q.

According to What Now Atlanta, the Fox brothers are refocusing their efforts on the Bar-B-Q restaurant.

Was always reluctant to go try it out, as their website didn’t have any prices listed. Oh well.

My wife and I really enjoyed Big Tex. We will miss the food, fun, Falcons and friends. Best of luck.

We loved the service and location, but was not impressed with food. I always said they should open another Fox Brothers at that location. The one in Candler Park is always packed!

I never ate at Big Tex, because their inspection scores were either low or for what they got counted off for. The first day I tried to eat their, their cooler was not working.

These are the same reasons that I don’t eat at Fox Brothers.

This place was awesome. Not only did they have great food but they also held small concerts and football games n front of their restaurant. Big Tex was one of kind in Decatur. No where else can you get Country Fried Chicken with gravy. Their BLT’s had the biggest slices of bacon in town. Also you were able to get Fox Bros quality chicken wings as well. Lastly they had a low key Blues and Brunch every Sunday.

I will deeply miss this place.
