Decatur lost another restaurant this week.

Burnt Fork BBQ announced via Facebook on Thursday, Dec. 18, that it is calling it quits after four years.

The message said, “Well, folks after four years of hard work we’ve decided to close our doors. We really appreciate your support and we wish you all well.  -Josh and Kara.”

The post doesn’t offer any further explanation. No one answered the phone when Decaturish tried contacting the restaurant. The Church Street BBQ joint was known for its tasty brisket nachos and vegan side dishes.

A message posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page in May noted the restaurant was undergoing a transition.

It said, “The fact is we have gone through a lot of big changes in a short period of time making it very difficult to update y’all. We have said goodbye to a lot of our senior employees who we will miss and we wish all the best. Starting today I will be making every effort to keep y’all up to date on the changes we have undergone and are currently undergoing. Keep your eyes out for updates. – Chef Josh.”

Burnt Fork follows in the wake of the closure of Harbour House Pub, also located on Church Street, which closed on Dec. 14.
