The Cask Room, a “full service wine and beer establishment” has officially opened its doors in Decatur, Ga.

It is located on 900 West College Avenue in a former Yoga Studio.

“It has been a long process, but we are very excited to announce The Cask Room is officially open,” company co-president Vita Wilson told Decaturish. “We are offering premium wines and specialty craft beers at discounted prices until Dec. 6.”

The Cask Room has installed automatic wine dispensers. Customers can also grab a bite to eat. The menu include Paninis, soups and crepes.

It’s open Tuesday through Saturday, from 5 pm to 10 pm Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 11 pm on Friday, and 4 pm to 11 pm on Saturday.

“We will offer events showcasing specialty craft beers and also premium wines from around the world,” Wilson said. “We will also offer small plates, including charcuterie, cheese plates, specialty crepes, and deserts. We are very excited to be a part of the Decatur community, and our goal is to provide a relaxing, educational, and welcoming atmosphere for the community.”

  • Skeptical Wine Snob

I truly hope this place did their due diligence and that this business thrives.

This same concept was open in downtown Decatur a few years back and it’s a Jimmy John’s now because the place didn’t offer a special experience or anything really all that different from going to some random bar. And they really didn’t know all that much about wine, which was the baffling part. I think that place just had wine taps and a bunch of cheese and thought it would be enough to keep people coming back.

There’s a way this could be done and really be fantastic, but it’s really hard. So yeah, despite how negative I sound (am), best wishes!
