A local business dedicated to selling arts and crafts is closing.

Sheepish, which relocated last year, announced on Dec. 26 that this will be the shop’s last week in business. The shop will officially close on Dec. 31 after being open for six years. Owner Carrie Dodd’s letter to customers says everything is on sale.

“This has not been an easy decision for me, but I feel like it is time to move on to other adventures,” she wrote.

She encouraged her customers to support other local businesses when they want to shop for yarn.

“In this computer age where everything you want is available with a click of your finger, I would like to encourage you to please keep patronizing other local yarn stores,” Dodd wrote. “Buying yarn is such a tactile experience–the touch, the color, and even the smell are all wonderful. Whenever you can, go buy your yarn in person. Small shops need your support now more than ever.”
