Agnes Scott College on Feb. 2 announced that Athletics Director Joeleen Akin will become the Associate Dean of Students as part of a staff “restructuring.”

According to a press release from the college, Akin will be in charge of student activities and athletics.

Beth Vansant, the assistant athletics director, will serve as the interim athletics director, the press release says. Akin served as the college’s athletics director for 11 years.

“The Division of Student Life is being restructured as a means to address several areas within student life that can contribute to the vibrancy of the student experience,” Donna Lee, Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, said in the press release. “This restructuring capitalizes on Joeleen’s exuberance, creativity, and on her dynamic, visionary and strategic leadership.”
