It isn’t often that there’s an opportunity to associate the small, historic town of Avondale Estates with MTV, but opportunity is knocking this week.

The City of Avondale Estates has announced that the crew filming “Finding Carter” will be in town on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.

“Finding Carter” is about a teenage girl who finds out she was abducted as a child.

On Wednesday, crews will film at Lake Avondale from 9 am to noon and at 44 Lakeshore Drive from 7 am to 9 pm. On Thursday,there will be more filming at Lakeshore Drive, 7 am to 9 pm.

“There will be intermittent traffic delays between Lakeview Place and Wiltshire Drive,” the city’s notice says. “Off-duty officers will be on location to control traffic. If you have questions, please contact Ben McIver, Key Assistant Locations Manager, at 773-896-5917.”
