A woman who lives along Lockwood Terrace came home Tuesday evening, March 10, and saw two men riding around a nearby intersection on a roller scooter and bicycle.

She told Decatur Police that those two men robbed her when she parked in her driveway in the 100 block of Lockwood Terrace. The suspects, described as black males in their early to mid-20’s wearing hooded sweatshirts that concealed part of their faces, told the woman to get out of her vehicle. One of them had his right sleeve pulled down over his hand and held his arm out, as if he had a weapon, according to Decatur Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross.

The suspects told the victim to give them everything she had and stole her vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Highlander with GA tag No. BGV9792.

Officers found the bicycle and scooter at the scene, Ross said.

Actually, they were stolen from the 500 block of Ponce.

Folks, I grew up on Lockwood Terrace back in the forties and fifties and it was so safe back then we didn’t lock our house doors nor our car doors and even left the key in the ignition. Since then it has gotten to be a not so safe place, so my plan of action is instead of sleeping at night, I would get in my truck, fill it up with gas and go on patrol in that area as well as the surrounding areas. I would call myself a supplemental force to help our police who obviously can’t be in all places at all timesl. We all have cell phones to use when things look suspicious and we can call for help. I would not carry a gun because I don’t want to kill anyone; however, I will carry a baseball bat hollowed out and filled with lead. Snakes and crooks have one thing in common…….THEY BOTH CRAWL AT NIGHT. So listen up all you criminals who come to Decatur to cause mayhem, you might want to go somewhere else far away because all of us law abiding citizens and not going to let you take over our city and scare our citizens so they won’t come out and enjoy their city. We’re gonna rid our city of these thugs and make sure they don’t come back.
