This could be just the motivation you need to get started on some spring cleaning.

Decatur is once again holding its Electronics Recycling Day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The city says anything with an electrical cord can be recycled — with the exception of microwave ovens, furniture, light fixtures, household appliances, lamps, and vacuum cleaners.

There’s a full list of what you can recycle and that includes answering machines, batteries, and telephones. The city said it’s diverted more than one million pounds of electronics from landfills since it started the event in 2005.

You can also recycle Styrofoam and get documents shredded Saturday. Shredded documents will also be recycled.

It’s all happening at Decatur Public Works, 2635 Talley Street, Decatur, GA 30030. The city says to enter from Columbia Drive.
