A car that crashed into a power pole caused major traffic problems at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Clairemont Avenue Thursday. Just after 5 p.m., GDOT reported two lanes of the four lane road were back open at SR 8 East/West at Clairemont Avenue after a period of all lanes being closed. The expected clear time was listed as 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Sgt. Jennifer Ross with Decatur Police reported, “Scott Boulevard is currently closed between Clairemont Avenue and Coventry Road due to a vehicle accident. Electricity is out in the area due to a damaged pole.”

Clairemont Elementary sent out an email alert, warning parents about the traffic tie-up.
