Decatur Police Lt. Jennifer Ross said that at around 6 pm, police officers responded to a car accident involving two vehicles on Scott Boulevard at Ridley Circle.

One adult is dead. Three other people are at local hospitals.

“Preliminary investigation revealed one driver was attempting to turn off of Ridley Circle, eastbound onto Scott Boulevard,” Ross said. “One driver was traveling westbound on Scott Boulevard. The driver of one of the vehicles, an adult, was killed and their passenger was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were also taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Police are withholding the identities of the people involved in the accident until their families are notified.
