The Decatur Arts Festival’s Fine Arts Exhibition opens with a reception this evening at Agnes Scott College.

The reception is 5:15 p.m.-7 p.m. in the Dalton Gallery at the college. While the exhibition will be open until June 7, the reception gives people a chance to take a first look at the artwork and meet the artists. The Arts Festival website notes there will also be refreshments.

This year’s jurors, Molly Rose Freeman, Ben Goldman, and Amanda Hellman, selected the pieces to show. A full list of the artists can be seen on the Decatur Arts Festival site.

These are the exhibition hours:

Open daily May 19-June 7: 2-5 p.m.
Friday, May 22 (Artwalk): 2-10 p.m.
May 23-24 and June 7: Noon-6 p.m.
Last Call Closing Reception June 7: 4-6 p.m.

It’s all part of a month-long celebration of art ahead of the annual Decatur Arts Festival happening this Saturday and Sunday. The Artists Market is expected to feature more than 160 artists. Last Friday, art lovers of all ages took part in the Decatur Lantern Parade, another May art event.
