A service to celebrate the life of Avondale Estates college student Julian Austin Toomsen-Hall will happen this Saturday.

The city of Avondale Estates sent out an email Thursday with details of Saturday’s service, which will happen at 10 a.m. at Cannon Chapel on the campus of Emory University. It noted all are welcome.

The email said 18-year-old Toomsen-Hall passed away peacefully on May 9 while attending New College in Sarasota, Florida. It described Julian as “an old soul with an infectious laugh, an innate thirst for knowledge, and an admirable refusal to think inside the box. He loved and was loved deeply and will be missed by all.”

Toomsen-Hall’s death is one of two student deaths under investigation by the Sarasota Police Department.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that contributions be made in Julian’s honor to the organization Saving Teens.
