Avondale Estates woman confronts thief stealing bike from her garage
According to Avondale Estates Police, a homeowner confronted a thief who was trying to steal a bicycle from her garage.
Police aren’t sure if the suspect is the person responsible for recent thefts from carports at other Avondale homes.
The Police Department got the call at 10 am on June 3 from a homeowner in the 1000 block of Dunwick Drive.
“The initial report revealed that the homeowner confronted a subject in her open garage attempting to take a bicycle,” an alert from the police department says. “When confronted, the subject fled the open garage without the bicycle. There was no physical contact between the involved parties.”
Police also provided this description of the suspect:
Black male in his thirties, approximately 5′ 9″, medium to heavy build, closely cut hair; wearing plaid/checkered shorts and a white T-shirt.
“Anyone having possible information related to the incident is asked to contact Inv. Tom Gillis at 404-391-4526,” the press release from the police department says.
