This story has been updated.

UPDATE: The city just tweeted that Scott Boulevard is open again and power in the area has been restored.

The city of Decatur previously said Scott Boulevard was closed in both directions between Clairemont Avenue and Coventry Road because of a tree down on live power lines.

The city said in a blog post, that stretch of Scott would remain closed until Georgia Power crews arrive and made the scene safe.

It warned people to find alternate routes and avoid the area until further notice.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.

Here’s the full post from the city:

Please be aware the Scott Blvd is closed in BOTH directions between Clairemont and Coventry. There is a tree down on live power lines and this stretch of Scott Blvd will remain closed until Georgia Power crews are able to arrive and make the scene safe. Please plan to use alternate routes and avoid the area until further notice.
