Decatur Police respond to burglary on 3rd Avenue

Decatur Police responded to a burglary in progress on July 1 in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue.

According to police, a neighbor heard a loud crash and saw two suspects in the victim’s backyard carrying a flat screen television from the rear of the home and placing it in a maroon vehicle. According to police, “The vehicle had a shiny metal strip above the tag but the make and model is unknown.”

Officers noticed that someone shattered a rear glass door. The victim also reported that the suspects stole a desktop computer and a laptop.

The suspects are described as:

#1: Black male, 20-30 years old, dark complexion, black hair, wearing a red and black flannel shirt

#2: Black male, late teens-early 20’s, dark complexion, black hair, wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a red/pink backpack
