Decatur City Hall

Decatur City Commissioner Scott Drake will face two challengers as he runs for reelection this year.

Two other candidates have qualified to run for District 1 Post B: Valencia Monique Breedlove and Eric Tumperi, who qualified on Sept. 2. Drake also qualified to run on Wednesday, the last day to register to be on the ballot in the Nov. 3 elections in Decatur.

Drake was elected in 2013. It was a special election to replace Mayor Bill Floyd, who resigned. Unlike many other cities, Decatur’s mayor is elected by fellow-commissioners, not by the voters.
