Two more candidates have declared their intention to run for office in the Nov. 3 municipal elections.

In Avondale Estates, Adela Yelton has qualified to run for City Commission. Yelton joins Brian Fisher, and incumbent John Quinn in the race for city commission. Unlike Decatur, Avondale doesn’t have commission districts. The commission seats go to the two candidates who earn the most votes.

Jonathan Elmore has qualified to run for mayor as he seeks his first full term. Elmore won the job in a special election in March, following the resignation of former mayor Ed Rieker.

The District 2, Post B seat is up for grabs. The current incumbent, Julie Rhame, decided not to seek another term. Two candidates have qualified to run for that position: Tom DeSimone and Tasha White.
