LifeLine Animal Project offers free adoptions for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens all October at DeKalb County Animal Services and Fulton County Animal Services.

LifeLine Animal Project, which runs DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) and Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS), is offering free pet adoptions in October.

The “Fall in Love” promotion means adopters will receive for free a dog or cat that has been spayed or neutered, had all vaccines, and is microchipped. LifeLine said it is offering the promotion because of the high number of animals that came in during September.

The adoption special announcement says, “In August, DCAS took in over 756 animals and FCAS took in over 660 animals. FCAS Director Lara Hudson is optimistic that the ‘Fall in Love’ promotion will result in many homeless pets finding their forever homes.”

“With 20 to 40 animals entering the shelter daily, we urgently need public support to help us save lives, and we’re hopeful that the public will step up and adopt from us,” Hudson is quoted as saying.

Lifeline says free adoptions tend to bring more people into shelters to look for their new best friend. LifeLine said it makes up the waived fee through fundraising. Here is the adoption page to get started finding that special pet.
