The annual HAINTS & SAINTS Halloween Parade, hosted by HomeGrown Decatur returns this Sunday, October 25 beginning at 4 p.m.

The parade was introduced in 2011, according to a press release, and will feature “local marching and brass bands, tricked-out hearses, floats, classic cars and, best of all, Decatur residents and visitors taking to the streets to get their weird on!”

Anyone can take part in the parade. Details from the press release say, “Line up for the HAINTS & SAINTS Halloween Parade begins at 3 p.m. for vehicles and floats at the Decatur Post office, located at 520 W.Ponce de Leon Ave., followed by the walkers at 3:30. Anyone may walk or roll in the parade; floats, bands, and groups larger than 5 can register online at www.decaturhalloweenparade.com. As the parade begins at 4 p.m., the police will do a rolling closure in front of the parade.”

A concert on the Square will take place after the parade and will include the bands Wasted Potential Brass Band, Black Sheep Ensemble, Mercury Orkestar, Scofflaw and The Common Ground Collective.

HomeGrown Decatur is a shop in downtown Decatur that sells work from local artists, jewelers, and crafters.

October 13, 2015: HOMEGROWN announced that the annual HAINTS & SAINTS Halloween Parade returns to the streets of downtown Decatur Sunday, October 25th.

Decatur’s HAINTS & SAINTS has grown steadily since its introduction in 2011 and this year promises to be the best so far! Local marching and brass bands, tricked out hearses, floats, classic cars and, best of all, Decatur residents and visitors taking to the streets to get their weird on!

Line up for the HAINTS & SAINTS Halloween Parade begins at 3 p.m. for vehicles and floats at the Decatur Post office, located at 520 W.Ponce de Leon Ave., followed by the walkers at 3:30. Wait! There’s more fantastic weird fun to come! As the parade wraps up, let the HAINTS & SAINTS Jam commence! Bands, including, Wasted Potential Brass Band, Black Sheep Ensemble, Mercury Orkestar, Scofflaw and NEW this year: The Common Ground Collective will take turns jamming on the square.

After getting your parade and jam on, be sure to visit one of the many amazing restaurants and watering holes in downtown Decatur; many will be offering specials for parade participants.
