Shooting at apartments severely injures child, wounds three adults

DeKalb County Police are still searching for the person responsible for shooting four people, including a child at an apartment complex near Decatur.

Officers responded to Austin Oaks Apartments on Glenwood Road after 8 p.m. on Oct. 12. They found the four victims: three adults and one child.

“All the adults are expected to recover,” Maj. Steven Fore said. “The child underwent surgery at Egelston Childrens Hospital and is now stable and expected to survive. The adults advised that they were standing in the breezeway of their building when an unknown male suspect began shooting at them.  The investigation is ongoing.”
