LifeLine Animal Project, which runs DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) and Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS), is offering half-priced adoptions this month on all dogs, 25 pounds or more, and all cats.

The discounted adoption fee includes a microchip, vaccinations, and getting your new pet spayed or neutered. You can adopt a pet through DCAS, FCAS, or Lifeline’s adoption centers in Avondale Estates and Scottdale.

The promotion is being called “Give Shelter Pets a Reason to be Thankful.” Lifeline CEO Rebecca Guinn said in a press release the goal is to help shelter animals find homes for the holiday season. “All pets deserve a warm bed, a full belly and someone to love them, and in return they bring many positive benefits to a home,” Guinn said in the release.

As Decaturish previously reported, Lifeline offered free adoptions in October after receiving an influx of pets in September. Here’s the adoption page where you might find your new best friend.

In other pet adoption news, Second Life thrift shop in Avondale Estates is hosting two rescue groups at its 1 N. Clarendon Ave. store this Saturday, Nov. 14.

Southeastern Greyhound Adoption will be answering questions about adopting the breed from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. The greyhounds won’t be there because the commotion can be overwhelming for them. Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends will be at Second Life with adoptable pets from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday.

If kittens are your jam, two five-month-old foster kittens named Laverne and Shirley are up for adoption at Second Life’s Furniture, Decor and More location at 89 N. Clarendon Ave.
