DeKalb County CEO Lee May, who is under pressure to resign his post over corruption allegations, thinks the media is part of the problem.

According to CBS 46, May recently told a private gathering that, “We need to figure out a way that we can better approach and address what the media is doing to this county.”

Only one media outlet, The Champion newspaper, was present during the meeting held at Rainbow Park Baptist Church in greater Decatur.

While the media has been aggressive in its coverage of the county, May ordered the investigation that has led to calls for his resignation. A report released by former attorney general Mike Bowers called on May to resign over allegations the CEO borrowed money from a subordinate, Morris Williams, in violation of the county organizational act.
