A week and a half after Walmart opened in Suburban Plaza, a second new business is open.

LA Fitness Decatur opened Friday, November 20. An employee who answered the phone at LA Fitness confirmed the opening and said the gym will even be open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The employee said no group classes were scheduled yet, but said to keep checking online.

Construction has begun on the Starbucks that will be behind LA Fitness in Suburban Plaza. The Starbucks will have a drive-through.

New banners outside Suburban Plaza advertise the other businesses coming to the center, including Half Price Books and HomeGoods.

Bill Stogner, Senior Vice President with Selig Enterprises, previously told Decaturish a Louisiana-style Cajun restaurant was committed to the center. He said HomeGoods and Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores would potentially open in March with Ross Dress for Less opening in June.

No word on any progress on The Comet Pub &┬áLanes, but a post on its Facebook page said, “We can’t wait to show you The Comet! Keep up with us here on Facebook for information on when we’ll be opening and how to apply to work with us!”
